Nutty About Nuts!

With so many nuts in the world, how do we know which ones are best for us? Nuts are typically very high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which are healthy for you. Most popular and readily available nuts are: Almonds, walnuts, peanuts, cashews, macadamia nuts, pistachios, hazelnuts and pecans. There are many ways to incorporate nuts into your dietary habits, by the handful, in a salad, in a trail mix, crusted meats, stir-fry and many more.
The benefits of nuts are as follows:
  •  Rich in fiber
  •  Antioxidants
  •  High in Omega 3 fatty acid

Nuts may be high in calorie but they are nutrient rich and beneficial to the body. Also, keep in mind that the recommended serving size is ½ cup of nuts on a regular basis.
